Shipping container in the Shortlands Tavern garden refused retrospective permission for the following reason:  

"The proposal, by reason of its scale and siting, would result in a dominant and overbearing form of development within the streetscene, which fails to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of Shortlands Village Conservation Area, thereby contrary to Policy HC1 and D3 of the London Plan. Policies 37 and 41 of the Bromley Local Plan and Urban Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document (2023)."

The Tavern has just submitted a retrospective application for a shipping container in the garden. This follows planning enforcement action, the third in the last few years.
